Report 2006

The first edition of Barometer CVO provided a lot of information about the car fleet market in Poland. All the decision-makers who take part in the research are optimistic about the future of the national economy, car industry, as well as own company development.

In comparison with other European countries, the Polish fleet is rather small. Still, over 70% of the Polish companies have their own vehicles. Paid utilization of private vehicles for business purposes is widely practised in Poland. Taking into consideration the opinions of decision-makers, the idea will not be so popular in the future.

Representative (functional) vehicles funded by the companies' equity capital dominate in the Polish car fleets. Small and midsized companies chose their car fleets according to their price and exploitation costs. Large companies take into consideration mainly the vehicle brand. Although the Polish decision-makers declare that the car fleets are environmentally friendly, they cannot define precisely how they protect our environment. In comparison with other European countries, Polish companies do not pay so much attention to the campaigns which aim to improve the road safety. Additional vehicle furnishing is for most decision-makers only a preventive action.

The Polish decision-makers still have an insufficient knowledge about finance lease and long-term rental as a way of investment funding. In the future the majority of entrepreneurs plans to limit self-funding and benefit from finance lease. The research proved a significant interest in fleet management, in particular current technical service and 24h assistance.
