Report 2008
The third CVO Barometer, a survey giving result of a tracking study on the opinion of decision-makers as regards corporate vehicles, provides similar results to the ones carried out in previous years. This similarity mainly pertains to opinions and morale of the people responible for the purchasing and operation of corporate vehicles.
Regardless of the size of a company they represent, decision-makers are optimistic about the developement of Car Fleet Management in the near future. Optimism level among Polish decision-makers is substantially higher than the European average.
Polish fleet market uses fairly traditional financing methods, the most popular of which is paying for corporate cars with company's financial assets. Second most popular source of financing is finance lease. The most sophisticated financing instrument, i.e. operating lease is least popular in small and medium-sized companies. It is relatively often used only in big companies; however, it is still much less popular than in developed Western European countries. It seems that in the near future the dynamic developement of the Polish fleet market will impel companies to turn to operating lease since it still offers considerable growth possibilities.
Compared with the surveys launched in previous years, CVO Barometer 2008 was more comprehensive in respect of environmental issues. It reflects a wider tendency connected with the idea of sustainable development, which can be observed in fleet market.. Consultancy in the scope of building and operation of eco-friendly fleet is gradually becoming a standard and a relevant element in running the business.
