Used cars prices hit CFM companies
April 2009
Selling used cars in Poland used to be a very profitable undertaking. Those times are gone.
In the end of last year, we could witness a breakdown of used cars market. Prices were dropping in most of EU countries even by 25% and buyers became very picky. That happened in Poland, too. Though, used cars are very popular in our country, even here we can see ongoing changes. Polish drivers do not want to drive the worn out cars. They look for younger and accident free vehicles, but within the same budget. They demand more for the same price. And that is exactly where used lease cars may find their new owners.

There are three main sales channels of used lease cars: CFM clients, such as used cars dealers, agents, previous users or individual customers. Among them, situations when previous drivers that got used to the vehicle and decided to keep it after the lease are very rare. That is why most of the leasing and CFM companies sell cars to other companies only.
- You have to remember that leasing companies sell cars in lots, after the leases end. It means that at once they have from dozen or so, up to a few hundreds of vehicles - says Radosław Wnuk, LeasePlan Fleet Management Operational Director.
