Exceptions
If the total mass of the vehicle does not exceed 3.5 ton, it may be still regarded as a truck when:
- The vehicle has one line of seats which is separated from the loading part by a wall or fast barrier and the part suitable for load transport exceeds 50% of the vehicle length.
- The vehicle has one line of seats which is separated from the loading part by a wall or fast barrier and is classified as a multipurpose vehicle or van.
- The vehicle has an open part designed for load transport.
- The driver’s cabin and car body designed for load transport are two separate vehicle elements.
- The car is a specifically designed vehicle, for example a cash transport vehicle, an excavator or an emergency road service vehicle.
- The vehicle is designed for transport of at least 10 persons (including driver), if this is its homologation purpose.
